"Presidents Day"

Presidents’ Day is an American holiday celebrated on the third Monday in February. Originally established in 1885 in recognition of President George Washington, it is still officially called “Washington’s Birthday” by the federal government. Traditionally celebrated on February 22—Washington’s actual day of birth—the holiday became popularly known as Presidents’ Day after it was moved as part of 1971’s Uniform Monday Holiday Act, an attempt to create more three-day weekends for the nation’s workers. While several states still have individual holidays honoring the birthdays of Washington, Abraham Lincoln and other figures, Presidents’ Day is now popularly viewed as a day to celebrate all U.S. presidents past and present.

Student Success Statement #37

"Enthusiasm makes the difference."
Dr.Norman Vincent Peale

Enthusiasm:is strong excitement about something : a strong feeling of active interest in something that you like or enjoy.

I agree with Dr. Norman because if you do the things with enthusiasm you do it better. An example is like when you are working and if you don't like what you are doing you don't do it well but if you do it with enthusiasm you do a very good job. Don't worry about what can go wrong, and be enthusiastic about what can go right!!!!!!

Student Success Statement #36

" I wasn't trying to leave a legacy. I was trying to do what was right"
Dean Smith

Reflection: This quote means no matter if you don't want to leave a legacy if people see that you are going to do the right thing they are going to be like you. Dean Smith was just trying to teach the players how to have fun when they play not just thinking in winning. Dean Smith is a person who wasn't trying that people do something for him, but people make it because he was a great person and a great couch.

Student Success Statement #35

"It's not about how to achieve your dreams. It's about how to lead your life. If you lead your life the RIGHT WAY, the karma (destiny, fortune, good luck) will take care of itself. The dreams will come to you."
Dr.Randy Pausch

Reflection: I like this quote. This is a really good quote because if you lead good your life like doing good thing and helping people your dreams are will come to you. Also this quote means that if you do good things the karma is going to give you good things. An example of this if you study hard so you can go to a good college and then you graduate for college you are going to have a good life.

Student Success Statement #34

"Of all the work that is done or that can be done for our country, the greatest is that of educating the BODY,the MIND,and above all the CHARACTER,giving spiritual and moral training to those who in a few years are themselves to decide the destinies of the nation."
Theodore Roosevelt.

Reflection:This quote is very true. I love this quote. This quote means that if you give people support in his life they can do great thing.

Student Success Statement #33

"Take responsibilities for YOUR OWN body, mind, and spirit, for your own physical, mental, and spirit well-being."
Mr. Haymore

REFLECTION: This is a good quote. I like this quote because it's true that you need to take responsibilities for you. Nobody is going to take responsibilities for your actions so you need to do it.
